Biography

I didn't plan on being a writer; no, I was planning on becoming a marine biologist, or maybe working with horses. I'd always been an avid reader -- though I guess I tend to absorb books more so than read them -- so writing was something that took me by surprise in high school. By the time I reached university, I had been severely bitten by the writing bug, leading me to complete a BA (Hons) in English in 2001, and then on to an MA in Creative Writing (completed 2005).

I started with writing poetry and short genre stories -- usually fantasy -- in high school, and later moved on to writing articles with a spiritual focus. I now write novels and short stories, some of which I've been lucky enough to publish. I also enjoy babbling my heart out in online journals, and spending far too much time with a pint of cider in hand.

When not writing, I'm usually found trying to disentangle three cats -- one pedigree Somali, one pedigree Norwegian Forest Cat, and one moggie -- from each other. If I can find my way out from underneath all the books, that is. If I can, then you'll probably be greeted by a tall redheaded woman, mid-20s, who has an (un)healthy fascination with all things esoteric. If I look confused, it'll only be because I can't decide which character you're s'posed to be.
